DESCRIPTION:Join us for this special event to hear from government\, business\, and industry partners\, and members of the UMaine MARINE community to discuss and define the Blue Economy in the state of Maine. \n\nWhat is the Blue Economy for Maine and beyond?\nHow does UMaine contribute to the Blue Economy?\nHow can UMaine contribute in the future?\n\nDuring the event\, UMaine President Joan Ferrini-Mundy will provide remarks. \nThe panel consists of stakeholders in the state\, including state officials\, business people\, and community leaders. Heather Johnson\, commissioner of the Maine Department of Economic Community Development is among the panel of stakeholders. Johnson is dedicated to fostering economic development\, both in private companies and in rural communities across Maine. Joining her on the panel is Curt Brown of Ready Seafood\, Alex de Koning of Hollander and de Koning\, and Kate Dempsey of The Nature Conservancy in Maine. \nEvent Sponsored by UMaine MARINE.
