On April 17, 2025, UMaine MARINE and University of Southern Maine hosted “Tides of Change: A Blue Humanities Forum”, at the University of Southern Maine’s Glickman Library. Funded by the UMaine Research Reinvestment Fund, this event served as a pivotal gathering for faculty across the University of Maine System to engage and collaborate on the Blue Humanities. This field examines the deep connections between humanity and the oceans, bridging the cultural, historical, scientific, and artistic perspectives on marine environments.
